LYCKEBYIncorporated into : 1967 Karlskrona
![]() Origin/meaning: In the 14th century the town of Lyckå was the main trading centre in the area. The local Lords of Lyckå built walls around the town and fortified their castle. The town remained an important trading center until the early 17th century when Kristianopel was founded. The only known seal of Lyckå dates from 1584 and shows a crowned L in a field with leaves or flowers. In the arms the fortifications are shown in the base of the shield, whereas the crown and leaves in the upper part are taken from the old seal. Literature : Petersson, 19?? |
