		Sveriges Kommunvapen Swedish Civic Heraldry LUDVIKA Origin/meaning : The arms were granted in 1920 and confirmed in 1971. Ludvika is known since the 15th century and was in the 17th century a possession of Alex Lillie and in the 17th century it became a possession of the Cedercreutz family. Both these families used a lily in their arms, which is symbolised by the two lilies. The bend is the local river, which is used to generate hydro-electric power.
