KARLSKOGA

Origin/meaning:
The arms were granted in 1974.

Karlskoga grew rapidly during the early 20th century due to the Bofors arms industry. The town received city status in 1940. The arms show two guns and the symbol of iron, both for the arms industry and the more general heavy (iron) industry in the municipality.
