KARLSHAMN


Additions : 1967 Asarum (1952 Ringamåla), Hällaryd (1952 Åryd), Mörrum (1952 Elleholm).

Origin/meaning:
The arms were granted on Februari 28, 1666 and reconfirmed on November 1, 1974.

Karlshamn was built by and named after King Karl X Gustaf, as a harbour (hamn) town. The arms show the Swedish lion in rather unusual colours, over the sea. The importance of the town as a harbour is symbolised by the anchor.
