Civic Heraldry of Ukraine УкраїнськаГеральдика NOVOHRAD-VOLYNSKYI Origin/meaning: The arms were adopted on October 12, 1994. I have no information on the origin or meaning of these arms. Any information is welcome ! Previously the city used different arms, which were granted at the end of the 18th century. I have no information on the meaning of the cross. In 1863 B. Kene designed new arms for the city, with the same cross, as well as the provincial arms in the first quarter. As the arms of the Volynska province were identical, the arms show two crosses.
