Civic Heraldry of Ukraine УкраїнськаГеральдика CHYHYRYN Origin/meaning: The arms were adopted on July 19, 1992. The arms show in the upper half a horse, derived from the old arms of Cherkasy province, to which the town belongs. The base shows the historical arms of the city, the three arrows. The historical, early 19th century, arms, see above, show the three arrows, of which I do not know the significance, and in the upper half the arms of Kyiv province, to which the city belonged at the time. In 1964 B. Kene proposed the arms above, which were not adopted. The arms show a different design, and in the first quarter the provincial arms. Any additional information is welcome !
