Origin/meaning:
The bird is the traditional and canting sign on the arms of the village; a bird is named "ocell" in Catalan. The abbott staff behind remind the jurisdiction of the monastery of Poblet over the village since 1217. These arms have been officially granted on 24th October 1995.
