Province : Lleida
Origin/meaning:
Compound arms: they show the arms of the two main villages of the municipality, that merged in 1973. La Vansa, the chief town, is represented by a sword and an episcopal staff, the attributes of St. Martin, soldier and bishop, the local patron saint; the other partition is for Fórnols de Cadí, symbolized by an anchor, the attribute of the patron saint of the village, St. Clement. These arms have been officially granted on 16th June 1983.
