Origin/meaning:
The arms were adopted in 1999 and replaced older arms, which were not of proper heraldic design (see below).
Utrera was an old Roman colony and later a fortified town. This is shown in the arms by the watch tower and a Roman lady. The bridge is the local bridge and the water in the base symbolises the local river as well as the irrigation works in the surrounding area. The horse and bull are symbols for the agriculture.

The old arms showed the richness of the local lands, symbolised by wheat, grapes, olives, horse and the bull. The tower and the Roman lady were shown in the upper part. The base showed the bridge over the irrigation canals.
