![]() Salamanca was conquered by Alfonso VI of Castille in 1085. The arms show the arms of the kingdom of Aragon and the old Roman bridge over de Tormes River. I know nothing on the origin of wolves' heads, which on a Spanish stamp appear as snakes. Louda doesn't give any heads at all (see below).
