SANT FELIU SASSERRA
Province : Barcelona
Origin/meaning:
Canting arms: they show a saw, because "serra" in Catalan means both "mountain range" (which is the real meaning of the name in Sasserra) and "saw". The royal arms of Catalonia-Aragon (four pales Gules on Or) remind the jurisdiction of the Crown over the Sots-vegueria (royal district) of Lluçanès, whose chief town was Sant Feliu Sasserra. These arms have been officially granted on 24th October 1990.
