RASQUERA
Province : Tarragona
Origin/meaning:
These arms are canting: they show a "carrasca" (Catalan name for the kermes oak, or Quercus coccifera). The village has an Islamic origin, and was given to the Templars: it belonged to the command of Miravet, and since 1317 to the Hospitallers; that's symbolized by the two crosses of Malta at both sides. These arms have been officially granted on 20th March 1990.
