QUEROL

Province : Tarragona

Origin/meaning:
The arms show the local castle (10th century), that was the centre of a barony since the 13th century; it belonged to the Cervelló family, represented here twice by their canting arms; a deer passant Azure on Or (a deer is named "cérvol" in Catalan). At the top of the arms, there is the baron's crown. These arms have been officially granted on 6th April 1999.
