Heraldica Española - Spanish Civic Heraldry

GALICIA

The arms show a chalice, probably used as a general symbol of the importance of the church in the area, especially in Santiago de Compostella, one of the most religious cities in Spain. The 7 crosses symbolise the 7 provinces in the region.
