PONFERRADA
Province : Léon

Origin/meaning:
Ponferrada is named after a bridge which was built in the 11th century by the bishop Osmundo. The Catholic Kings of Spain added this village to their crown in 1486. The arms thus show a canting bridge.
As I received two versions of the arms, I am not sure which are the official arms.
