Province : Gerona

Origin/meaning:
The sword is the attribute of St. Martin, the local patron saint. The village belonged since the 11th century to the monastery of Sant Joan de les Abadesses; the colours, Sable and Argent, are taken from the arms of this monastery. The arms have been officially granted on 6th November 1995.
