Heraldica Española - Spanish Civic Heraldry

Province : Lleida

Origin/meaning:
The arms show traditionally a heraldic salamander, lying in the burning fire without consumption and wasting (it could be an allusion to St. Saviour, the local patron saint), and have been officially granted on 28th September 1984. Massoteres belonged to the castle of Talteüll, in the county of Urgell.
