LA GRANADELLA
Province : Lleida
Origin/meaning:
The arms were granted on January 31, 1983.
The arms are canting: they show a branch of "granadella" (the
Catalan name for the pellitory of the wall, Latin name: Parietaria diffusa).
La Granadella was the centre of a barony; this is reflected in the arms by
the baron's crown at the top and the canting arms of the Moliner family
(literally a miller in Catalan): Gules, a millstone Argent, in the second
partition.
