CAPMANY
Province : Gerona
Origin/meaning:
The arms show the chief town, symbolized by the local castle (12th century), now in ruins, that was the centre of a barony and later, in 1798, a marquisat (this is shown by the marquis crown at the top of the arms). At both sides of the castle, the houses represent the other two villages in the municipality: Bosquerós and La Vall. The grapes at the base are an allusion to the main crop of the village. The arms have been officially granted on 12th May 1983.
