BARRIOS de LUNA
Origin/meaning:
The arms were adopted in the mid 1990s.
The dog heads are a local breed of dogs, which always play a major role in the most important festival in the town. The castle symbolises the 9th century castle near the village, of which some ruins still remain.
The waves symbolise the local lake, which was created in 1956 after the building of a large dam. The crescents are a canting symbol (Luna means moon).
