ARTIES E GARÒS

Province : Lleida

Origin/meaning:
The arms were granted on May 9, 1994.
Arties e Garòs are two villages that form a minor local entity included in the vast municipality of Naut Aran, in the Pyrenees (the fact that it's not a municipality itself is the cause that these arms don't have a crown at the top, as is usual in all other Catalan arms of villages and towns).
The arms show the confluence of the rivers Valarties and Garona, where Arties stands, and the fleur-de-lis, an attribute of the Virgin Mary, the local patron saint.
