Origin/meaning:
According to legend, the arms were granted to the town in 750 to commemorate the 5 nobles who fought 5 Moors in a battle to conquer the city. The arms thus show one of the knights and the city. In reality the city was reconquered in 1082 and the arms probably date from the 13th century.
