ŠMARTNO OB PAKI
Origin/meaning: The arms are dvided to symbolise the local patron saint, St. Martin of Tours, who cut his cloak to give to a beggar. The goose is a less common symbol for St. Martin and refers to the legend that he was hiding in a goose pen after being elected Bishop of Tours. Martin did not want to become a bishop, so he kept hinding. Eventually he was found and made bishop. The blue colour refers to the Paka river.
