Origin/meaning:
The left arms are the present arms of the city, the right arms are the old arms of the city.

The oldest symbol of the city can be seen on the seal from the 14th century. The picture shows a lamb on a small hill or meadow. In 1702 the arms of the city showed an (undefined) tree. In 1975 the city adopted arms with a stylised quatrefoil of unknown origin. The present arms were adopted in 1993 and are based on the oldest seal.
