Origin/meaning:
The left arms are the present arms of the city, the right arms are the old arms of the city.

The arms show the image of St. Mary with Jesus, the patron saints of the city. The composition already appeared on the 15th century seal of the city. The arms were officially granted on April 16, 1845 and the colours were changed in 1993.
