Origin/meaning:
The left shows the old arms of the city. The trees appeared for the first time on the seal of 1734. A later 18th century seal showed the local patron saint, St. Bartholomew. In 1918 the upper right arms were adopted, combining the two symbols. Later only the tree, the upper left arms, were used. At present the combined arms are used again.
