Origin/meaning:
The arms of the town (German name Parkwitz) show a rather strange phantasy animal, a hare with a fish tail. The meaning or origin of this strange figure is not known, but it already appears on the 16th century seals of the city. The oldest Lords of Parchwitz used a unicorn in their arms, all later rulers had totally differnt arms.
