Coat of arms of Margonin

Origin/meaning:
The arms show a crowned woman on a bear. This is part of the coat of arms of the Rawicz family (or clan), and already appeared on the local seal from 1787, when the town was ruled by a branch of the family. Similar seals were used until the early 20th century.

In 1994 Plewako and Wanag showed quite different arms with a city wall with gate and three towers. The meaning thereof I don;t know. Presently the city uses again the historical arm, although in different coulours as in the early 20th century.
