GIZYCKO
(Lötzen)

Origin/meaning:
When the three fish first appeared in the seals of (then) Lötzen is not known. In any way when Johann Sigismund of Prussia granted the new seal of the city in 1612, the seals were 'confirmed in their use'. The origin or the meaning of the fish is not known, but all later seals until the late 19th century show the three fish.
