TACNA

Origin/meaning :
The arms show in its first canton a lion. This lion represents a warrior spirit and bravery. The second canton shows the buganvilia (Boungaville flowers). This is the representative and typical flower of this land. The motto says La heroica ciudad de San Pedro de Tacna (The heroic city of Saint Peter of Tacna). The national ribbon and a laurel crown represent the heroic spirit and bravery of the people of Tacna in the Peruvian-Chilean war.
