Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on the 16th August 1956.

The arms of the Commune of Balzers are based on those of the Barons of Frauenberg, who were Lords of Gutenberg Castle around 1300. The minnesinger Heinrich von Frauenberg is particularly well-known. The family is recorded in documents from 1257 till 1336.
