PORSGRUNNAdditions : 1964 Brevik, Eidanger
![]() Origin/meaning: The arms were divesid in 1905 when the town needed a new city hall. The upper half shows a pors-plant (I don't know the English name), and is thus a canting symbol. The anchor symbolises the importance of the local harbour. The bend is the small river running through the town. Literature : Norwegian Municipal Network and Norske Kommunevåpen, Kommunalforlaget, 1987. |
