KARLSØY

Origin/meaning:
The arms were granted on December 12, 1980.

The arms show a sea eagle, as one of Europe's largest colonies of these birds is at Nord-Fugløy in the municipality. Furthermore the eagle symbolises the importance of fishing for the municipality.
