AUST-AGDER PROVINCE
Origin/meaning: The arms show two golden bars in red. The bars represent the two different communities, the land-based and ahore-based communities. The bars also represent trees, as timber was harvested in the inner parts of the province and shipped from the harbours. Forestry still is an important activity. Literature : Capellen and Johannessen, 1987.
