Province : Trentino-Alto Adige-Südtirol

Origin/meaning:
The arms were granted in 1956 and show a castle as a symbol for two hstorical castles. Above Gais stands the Kehlburg castle, built around 1007 and a little west of the village the castle Neuhaus, built in the 13th century. The bishops of Brixen owned both castles.

The meaning and origin of the new arms (above right) I don't know. Any information is welcome.
