JERUSALEM
 Origin/meaning:
The arms were adopted in 1948/9.
The arms show the olive branches, taken from the national arms. The wall is the wall of the Temple of Salomon, the wall of prayer in Jerusalem. The lion, is a reference to the tribe of Judah. The symbol of the tribe of Judah or Shevet Yehuda as it is known in Hebrew, was chosen since when the land of Cannan was divided up amongst the tribes, Jerusalem turned out to be in the tribe's territory.
