LEITRIM COUNTY![]() Origin/meaning: The shield has been divided to recall the gentle hills characteristic of much of the county. In the upper part are placed a lion as in the arms of O'Rourke and in the lower part are placed three fountains, representing the lakes which are so prominent a feature.
