Origin/meaning:
The left arms were used during the Communist era, the right arms are the present arms.
The line in the middle represents the Danube. Above, there is the scheme of the triumphal arch, a symbol of the city constructed in the 18th century. Below, the three columns are chimneys with a smoke above them, representing the biggest cement factory in the country which happens to be in Vác.
I have no information on the meaning of the present arms.
