Area Council : South Lanarkshire

Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on August 14, 1999.
The arms were designed after a children's competition and show symbols of agriculture and fishing, the main economic activities in the area. In the point is a Scottish thistle. The motto is in the local dialect and is a fisherman's cry.
