ANGUS (District Council and Angus Area Council )

Additions : 1975 the Burghs of Arbroath, Brechin, Carnoustie, Forfar, Kirriemuir, Montrose and the districts of Brechin, Carnoustie, Forfar, Kirriemuir, Montrose

Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted to the District Council on November 27, 1975 and to the Angus Council on March 14, 1996.

The arms are bascially the same as those granted to the Angus County Council in 1927, with the only differences the second quarter and the crown.
