![]()
Origin/meaning : The crest has a mural crown, within which are three cogwheels. There were two cogwheels in Leighton-Linslade's crest, one each for the two industrial towns of Leighton Buzzard and Linslade. The third is for Dunstable. The bull that rises behind them stands for the county, and is one of the supporters of the Bedfordshire County Council. The motto - BY TRUTH AND DILIGENCE - was used by Leighton-Linslade UDC, and is that of the Lucy family. Literature : Information provided by Laurence Jones
