HOUNSLOWAdditions : 1965 Brentford & Chiswick, Feltham, Heston & Isleworth
![]()
Origin/meaning : The crest is a punning reference to Hounslow Heath. The griffins previously supported the arms of Brentford and Chiswick. They are seen as protectors of treasure, symbolising the borough council's role in relation to the community. They are differenced by waves taken from the shield. The wings of the griffins are charged with seaxes from the arms of Middlesex County Council, as the area of Hounslow lay in that county until 1965. Literature : Image and information provided by Laurence Jones. |
