VANTAA

Origin/meaning:
The arms were designed in 1950 and officially granted on May 8, 1951 to the Helsinki regional municipality and later taken by Vantaa after the change of name.

The arms refer to the Vantaa river, which flows through the town, and originally it was an important source of salmon fishing, indicated by the salmon tail in the arms.
