Origin/meaning: The village historically belonged to the Counts of Rieneck and since the late 16th century to the State of Mainz. The wheel and the silver-red colours are those of the State of Mainz. The gold-red colours are those of Rieneck. The Prince-Archbishops of Mainz built hunting lodge in the nearby forests, which is symbolised by the deer antlers.
