WERLTE State : Niedersachsen
Origin/meaning: The arms are based on the arms of the Corvey Abbey, which ruled the Hümmling region in which the municipality is situated (a divided shield of red and gold). The upper half shows a megalithic grave, one of the many that can be found in the Hümmling. In Werle the largest of these in Germany can be found, the ''Hoogen Stainer''. The base shows a cogwheel for the industry in the municipality. The five spokes refer to the five villages Bockholte, Ostenwalde, Wehm, Werlte and Wieste.
