UFFENHEIM
State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windesheim (until 1973 Uffenheim)
 Origin/meaning:
The present arms appear in seals and images since 1546 and in colour since 1605. The arms show the quartered arms of Hohenzollern, who ruled the city since 1378 and the lion, most likely derived from the arms of the Markgraves of Nürnberg.
Before the end of the 16th century the city used different arms, showing a hand coming out of a cloud and holding a crown to stop an attacking lion. The origin or meaning of these arms is not known.
In the 19th century the quartered field was often shown in red and silver, but it was later restored to its original colours.
