TEUSCHNITZ
State : Bayern ![]() Origin/meaning: In the 19th century many different images of the arms could be found. In an image from 1813 the towers were replaced by trees, in 1818 the bend over the lion was removed and in 1821 the small shield with the lion was replaced by a shield divided in 8 parts in the colours of Bayern, blue and silver. These arms remained in use until at least 1864. In 1884 the lion was restored, but without the bend. In 1895 the old arms were restored. Literature : Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes; Stadler et al, 1990
