STIFT QUERNHEIM
State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
Origin/meaning: The arms show a gate which is taken from the medieval seal of the local convent (Stift), around which the village developed and after which the municipality is named. The two fleur-de-lys are derived from the 17th century seal of the convent. The base shows a watermill wheel, symbolising the former three watermills in the village. The colours are those of the State of Minden, to which the area historically belonged.
