State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Hannover (2001 Region Hannover) (until 1974 Springe)
Additions : 1974 Alferde, Altenhagen I, Alvesrode, Bennigsen, Eldagsen, Gestorf, Holtensen, Lüdersen, Mittelrode, Völksen

Origin/meaning:
Springe received city rights in 1300 from the Counts of Hallermund, who made the new city their capital. The oldest seal dates from the early 14th century and shows already the same elements as the above arms. The three roses are derived from the arms of the Counts of Hallermund; the waves are a canting element for the springs in the area, that form the Haller river. The meaning of the ring, however, is not known.
