RHEURDT
State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
Origin/meaning: The arms are identical to the old arms of the Amt Rheurdt and combine the symbols of the patron saints of Rheurdt (St. Nicholas, apples) and Schaephuysen (St. Hubertus, deer). The colours are the old colours of Geldern, as the area was a possession of the dukes of Geldern. The previous arms were granted on June 27, 1956.
These arms show the three apples as a symbol of St. Nicholas, the local patron saint. |
